Ray MacNeil

Ray has helped hundreds of men and women including many military veterans since 2002 understand the franchise industry and what it takes to become a franchise owner.

Over the years Ray learned that his best communication skill is his ability to listen. This is a skill he continues to hone around his favorite Stephen R. Covey habit (re: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People), which is his 5th habit of: “Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood”. In his role as a FranChoice Consultant, Ray insists that “…our process is not about me but rather about the people I help. I help people to reach their dreams and aspirations. By asking thought provoking questions and listening with an intent to understand, I can then match them to their ideal business options. I help make that perfect match between franchisee and franchisor.”

Ray started his career working in senior purchasing roles in both the public and private sectors, where he completed his professional designation certifications. Navigating the corporate world brought Ray further insights into the challenges of wanting to do more but being held back by organizational sacred cows and poor leadership. This led to the start and growth of his first business in the construction industry. As co-founder and President, he grew the company to a 7-figure business within 3 years of operation. As a result of this quick success, he was published as a guest writer for industry magazines and a regular guest speaker for RBC Royal Bank clients. Ray was nominated and honored as a Professional to the 1999 – 2000 edition of the National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.

Ray is married to Kathy and together they enjoy as much time as they can get with their 5 young grandchildren. Ray and Kathy also work together fundraising for the MS Society and Sick Kids Hospital, which are their two pet charities. Combining their love of hiking and bicycling, they continue to organize annual walks and bike rides as fundraising events.
